Mia Gao arrived in New Zealand twenty years ago from China where she was born and raised in Beijing, so naturally she is fluent in both written and spoken Mandarin.

In the following years she has honed her English skills and succeeded in achieving a double major Bachelor Degree in Property Management and Valuation as well as Finance from Massey University She is business oriented having run her own businesses as well as the administration of the family marine company over the following years. In addition she has invested in residential and commercial properties and retains a strong interest in this field. She has always been fascinated by technology especially in the communication and social media fields and keeps up with all the latest developments.

She has a beautiful young daughter and maintains a close interest in child education and development.
